Asamoah Gyan is retired from football.  The charismatic striker was born on the 22nd of November in Accra, Ghana.

Gyan’s professional career in football began with the premier league club Liberty Professionals.  With this team he scored ten goals in sixteen matches before he moved to Europe to play for teams including Rennes, Udinese, Sunderland, Al Ain and Kayserispor.  Asamoah Gyan is the leading goal scorer of the Ghana Black Stars, the national team with fifty one goals.  He played for Ghana at the 2006, 2010, 2012, 2013, 20fifteen, 2017 and 2019 FIFA World Cups.  He is the top African goal scorer in the World Cup’s history, scoring a total of six goals.  Asamoah Gyan also represented his country at the Summer Olympics in 2004 and in seven Africa Cup of Nations games.  He has excellent pace, strength and a powerful finish.  Asamoah served as the captain of the national team, the Black Stars, for a few years.

He established the Asamoah Gyan foundation to support education and health in Ghana and has been very involved in the development of the youth.  Asamoah Gyan retired in 2021 from professional football and has still been a source of mentorship and support from young and upcoming players.
