Born on the 26th of December 1914 Krobo Edusei was a member of the government of the first president of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.  He was an activist who worked hard to garner support from the Ashantis for the independence movement.  He was appointed as a Minister without Portfolio (1957), Minister for Agriculture (1963), Minister for Transport and Communication (1962) and Minister for the Interior (1957).  He almost lost his position as Minister when his wife purchased a golden bed worth $8,400 from London.   When Kwame Nkrumah was overthrown, he was put in prison and then released later.  Krobo Edusei continued to be politically active as senior member of the Peoples National Party which was formed out of the CPP party.
