Emmanuel started his primary school education at the Presbyterian School in Bompata and then entered Akim-Abuakwa in the Eastern Region. Kyeremanteng began dealing in cocoa, general goods and also owned a number of commercial cars.
As his business grew, he employed many young workers not just in the Gold Coast but also some parts of La Cote D’Ivoire. His name became associated with cash in those days. Not only was he successful as an entrepreneur, Kyeremanteng also contributed to the church by supporting many social programmes as well as investing in the education of many young folk especially in areas where he had businesses.
He became the very first Ashanti businessman to open a bank account and the first indigenous exporter of bottled wines into the country. The E.K. on the E.K. Gin bottle were his initials. He passed away on the 13th of August 1938 aged 68.
