Felcia Twumasi is the founder and CEO of Home Foods Processing and Cannery Limited.  Felicia is a graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Harvard, Business School, Boston and a member of the Stanford Institute of Innovation in Development Economies.

She was educated in a Convent School in Elmina, Ghana and this is where she decided that it was important to be financial and economically independent.  This was because many of her friends had to drop out of school when their fathers died.  This is what she feels birthed her passion to train and engage women and empower them to offer better lives to their children.  After quitting a career in teaching she set up Homefoods and took advantage of the free-market system that existed in Ghana at the time.  The company was incorporated on the 3rd of August 1995 with a stated capital of $500.  This capital has been able to build and sustain the company for over 30 years.  Turning Homefoods into a multi-million-dollar company has been achieved in a very competitive local and global market.  In August 2009, Felicia was listed in the International WHO’S’ WHO of Professionals.  Despite the recession in Europe and America in 2009, which saw the export market drop significantly, Felicia restructured the business, adding new products to the product lines and propelled the business from a small scale to a medium scale business.

Felicia is described as an exceptional personality and one who imbibes the epitome of successful entrepreneurship.  She is a perfectionist and sets very high standards for herself and the business relationships that usually develop into partnerships. These high standards have been passed on through her desire to mentor and coach fellow Ghanaians also on the path of entrepreneurship.
