Kate Quartey-Papafio is one of Ghana’s most influential industrialists and a trailblazer in Africa’s manufacturing sector. As the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Reroy Group of Companies, she has played a pioneering role in the production of electrical cables and power infrastructure solutions, becoming one of the first women in Africa to establish and lead a cable manufacturing business.

Her entrepreneurial journey began in 1992 when she and her husband struggled to find suitable electrical cables while building their home. Rather than accept the challenge, they turned it into an opportunity and founded Reroy Cables Limited. Through determination and innovation, Quartey-Papafio became the first female CEO of a cable manufacturing company within the ECOWAS region.

Under her leadership, the company expanded into the Reroy Group of Companies, which includes Reroy Cables, Reroy Power, Reroy Energy, and Reroy Metals. Together, these businesses manufacture power cables and conductors, supply and install power distribution equipment, develop solar and power plants, and produce aluminium wire rods, contributing significantly to Ghana’s industrial growth and energy sector.

Kate’s achievements have earned her numerous accolades. In 2014, she was named Marketing Woman of the Year by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana and won the Entrepreneurship Category at the inaugural Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah African Genius Awards. In 2023, she received the Legacy and GADIA State Award from Nana Akufo-Addo in recognition of more than 27 years of outstanding leadership in business and entrepreneurship.

Beyond her corporate success, she serves as Chairperson of the Electricals and Electronics Sector Committee of the Association of Ghana Industries, where she continues to advocate for industrial development and local manufacturing.

Widely recognized as Ghana’s “Queen of Cables,” Kate was featured by CNN Africa for her remarkable contribution to the industry.
