Tony Yeboah
Tony Yeboah is a retired Ghanaian professional footballer. The talented striker was born in Kumasi, Ghana on the 6th of May 1966. He started his professional career in Ghana and then moved to play in Europe for Eintracht Frankfurt and Hamburg in Germany as well as Leeds United in the United Kingdom. Yeboah was recognized as having a powerful left foot and known for scoring magnificent goals from a distance. In 415 appearances in Europe, he scored 187 goals. In 1981,1982 and 1983, he played for Asante Kotoko and won the Ghana premier league three years in a row.
Yeboah played for the Black Stars and was an important member of the team that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1982. He played in two FIFA World Cups in the years 1992 and 1998.
Yeboah retired in 2002 from professional football, but he will remain a popular figure in Ghana and beyond. He is regarded as one of the best Ghanaian footballers of all time and has been inducted into the Ghana Football Association Hall of Fame.
