Adwoa Badoe
Adwoa Badoe born in Ghana on the 29th of October 1962. She studied at Achimota Secondary School and Wesley Girls High School, both prestigious high schools in Ghana. At Achimota she was an active member of the Cadet Corp. She followed her education into the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, qualifying as a doctor. Adwoa Badoe moved to Canada but was not able to practice as a doctor because she would have had to study the medical programme again to work in Canada. This brought her attention to her childhood love of writing and storytelling. She then developed her writing and also became a dance tutor, attending cultural festivals around the world and organising African dance workshops and cultural festivals in Canada and globally. Adwoa has written over 20 books, with some of her work including Crabs for Dinner, Between Sisters and Aluta. She is a pastor working at the River of Life International ministry in Guelph, Ontario.
