Boris Kodjoe or in full Boris Frederic Cecil Tay-Natey Ofuatey-Kodjoe is a German Ghanaian actor who used to be a fashion model.  Boris was born in Vienna, Austria on the 8th of March 1973 to a German mother and Ghanaian father.  He was raised in Germany attending the Virginia Commonwealth University on a tennis scholarship, graduating in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.  He is currently ninth in the school’s tennis history with seventy five career single wins. When a back injury prematurely ended his tennis career, he became an actor and a model.

His acting career commenced with small roles on shows such as the ‘Steve Harvey Show’ and ‘For Our Love’ and he gained recognition later when he played Damon Carter on ‘Soul Food’ the popular drama series on Showtime.  He later appeared in other films.  Kodjoe fell in love and tied the knot with his co-star Nicole Ari Parker and they got married on the 21st of May 200 five in Gundelfingern Germany.  Kudjoe has been very instrumental in bringing celebrities to Ghana, thus creating more visibility for the country and encouraging more such high-profile visits.   He is fluent in English, Russian, German, French, and Italian.  His philanthropic work included the Sophie’s Voice Foundation raising awareness about spina bifida.  He also serves as an ambassador for the Global Downs Syndrome Foundation.
